It is a well known fact that some reviews are prone to wildest exaggerations. Our free promo sampler, however, makes it absolutely clear why TOAD were once seen as one of the highest hopes in the hard rock field. No wonder - as they had learnt a lot from the most influencial acts of the time. Their 1970 debut is absolutely bubbling over with dark reminicences of Black Sabbath, which were accompanied by magical Heep-like organ sounds and progressive guitar work in the Hendrix vein on top. In short: Anyone who likes the vocal style, the riffs, and the melody lines of early black metal will find this record well worth listening to - not only because of some added single tracks but also because of the careful remastering of the original tapes! New Digipak release of sought after first LP plus 4 (bonus) single tracks (1st and 2nd single a & b sides) & Hendrix's Purple Haze. This digital remastered version matches all previuosly releases by a far better sound. |
