John McEntire, founder and current member of TORTOISE and THE SEA & CAKE, compiled his favourite tracks by the legendary German ambient music and krautrock pioneers CLUSTER.
Erst im Frühjahr 2016 erschien von Cluster eine Box mit dem Titel »1971-1981«. Enthalten waren die acht remasterten LPs der Hauptphase sowie eine Platte mit unveröffentlichtem Material.
Nun, etwas mehr als ein halbes Jahr später, kommt bereits die nächste Cluster-Zusammenstellung auf den Markt, noch dazu mit einem auf den ersten Blick identischen Titel. Ein Plagiat? Mitnichten! Es handelt sich gewissermaßen um die auf eine CD bzw. LP komprimierte Essenz der acht Hauptalben. Zumindest, wenn wir John McEntire (Tortoise, The Sea & Cake) folgen wollen, der die elf Kompilationstitel auswählte.
