Ende 1994 reifte in Chris Farlowe die Idee, ein Album mit einigen der Jazz-Standards, mit denen er aufgewachsen war, aufzunehmen. Als Kind schon hatte Chris diese Songs gesungen, begleitet von seiner Mutter am Piano.
Kurzerhand buchte man sich in Jon Hiseman's (Colosseum) Studio ein, holte Pat Crumly (saxophone), John Pearce (piano), Mark Nightingale (trombone), Somon Woolf (bass) und Simon Morton (drums) ins Boot und mit Clem Clempson an der Gitarre hatte man schnell eine ideale Besetzung beisammen.
Das Ergebnis ist ein sehr bemerkenswertes Jazzalbum, das nun endlich wieder, digital remastered + Bonustrack, erhältlich ist. Chris Farlowe beweist einmal mehr seine Klasse in seinen traumhaften Interpretation von Klassikern wie 'These Foolish Things', 'Trust In Me', 'Sunday Kind Of Love', 'You Don't Know Me' und natürlich 'As Time Goes By'! |
