Kalte, kurze, analoge Synthesizer-Instrumentals - auf seinem zweiten Album blieb Serge Blenner seinem Stil treu, ging aber weiter in Richtung Pop. Das Nebeneinander von düsteren Harmonien und Popstrukturen macht den besonderen Reiz dieses Albums aus. Stellenweise wirkt es wie eine Blaupause für die frühen Depeche Mode Nachdem man ihm bei Sky die Aufnahmen für sein erstes Album 'La Vogue' mit Kusshänden abgenommenàund 1980 veröffentlicht hatte, folgte nur ein Jahr darauf Blenners zweites Album 'Magazin Frivole'. Musikalisch blieb Blenner seinem Stil weitgehend treu, entwickelte ihn aber weiter in Richtung Pop. Es würde einen nicht wundern, wenn 'Magazin Frivole' auch bei Depeche Mode im Schrank gestanden hätte, denn Ähnlichkeiten sind nicht von der Hand zu weisen. Außerdem war Blenner einer der wenigen Vertreter der elektronischen Musik, die lieber kurze Songs statt ausufernder elektronischer Trips aufnahmen, wie es die meisten Vertreter dieser Musik zu tun pflegten.
