Orion’s Beethoven were formed in Buenos Aires in 1969, by the Bar brothers, Ronan and Adrian, with the singer Petty Guelache and drummer Jose Luis Gonzalez; they released finally album in 1973, this Superangel, that all along its 4 tracks features a sort of admixture between the hard rock a la Black Sabbath, with the style of symphonic bands o the time, like Genesis or King Crimson.
The songs are mostly long and, honestly, not too cohesive, though with cool details that keep the interest.
The first and longest track “Superangel” lasts almost 18 minutes, where are alternated the heavy rhythms with more intricate passages, the Leslie effect on the vocals and even some saxo in the end.
“Retrato de alguien” is the shortest song, a heavy blues, close to the 4 minutes and with a jazzy edge, which is followed by “Hijo del relampago”. This is another long track, that fills a good share of the side two all along its 12 minutes, basically more↓ Mehr anzeigen |
