Neben vorwärtspreschenden Motorik-Beat-Improvisationen begeisterte das Berliner Trio Camera auch immer mit atmosphärischen Soundlandschaften. Genau die liefern die beiden Gründungsmitglieder Franz Bargmann (Gitarre) und Timm Brockmann (Keyboards) auch auf ihrem instrumentalen Debütalbum 'Licht'. Ersterer verließ 2013 die Band, Letzterer im Jahr darauf. Im Studio ihres vormaligen Sängers Martyn Jacques spielten sie elf Tracks ein, die von analogen Synthesizern, Pianos und Gitarren getragen werden und sich durch einen warmen und dichten Sound auszeichnen. Stilistische Grenzen scheint es für Brockmann // Bargmann kaum zu geben, 'Licht' ist vielmehr das Dokument einer intensiven Klangforschungsreise, bei der Improvisationen als Kompass dienen. Hörbar ließ die Zeit im Studio genug Raum für Experimente: Aufnahmen wurden neu angeordnet und aufeinander oder nebeneinander geschichtet - den Zufall und Transformationsprozesse bezog man dabei großzügig mit ein.
