| Category: | Psychedelic / | Manufacturer: | pHiLmAriE Records | Year: | 1971 | Medium: | LP | Country: | Belgien | | Date: | 2011-12-15 | | Processing time: | 3 to 7 days | One of those real rare hard rock group often considered as heavy progressive, JENGHIZ KHAN
produced one sole album that is now a highly-priced collectible item. It's housed in an amazing
cartoon-like gatefold cover of the Great Conqueror having cut the group member's heads, this
obscure quartet is also the second band of bassist Pierre Raepsat (he had recorded with another "progressive" group LAURELIE one year before). An Heavy Prog-Psych Masterpiece occasionally reminds of an hybrid of TEN YEARS AFTER, URIAH HEEP ''Gypsy'', IRON BUTTERFLY and VANILLA FUDGEa...with Pierre Raepsaet's heavily accented Paul Rodgers-inspired vocals, kicked along by Tim Brean's keyboards and Friswa's buzz saw guitar, material like the bluesy ''Campus A'' and ''Trip To Paradise'' was every bit as good as material being churned out by their UK and US competitors. Despite a strong demand, as witnessed the prices for original vinyls, this is the First Legit LP Reissue of JENGHIZ KHAN's sole album with reproduction of the original sleeve and including 6 beautiful ''never seen before'' black/white photos of the band !!
