Aka Jürgen Krehan, formerly half of the Tyndall duo, Nik's origins were in more experimental electronic music, later forming the group Tycoon which changed into the more melodic Tyndall.
Under the guise of Nik Tyndall, his solo work is vastly different to what he was previously doing in Tyndall, so really the choice of name as a soloist was unwise! Taking advantage of sound sampling technology, and being inspired by the ambient musics of Roedelius, Brian Eno, et al. (Franco Battiato is also quoted in the dedications on his debut LP), he created a new personal style. So, ever since this, he's been building up a library of sounds for use in his music. His unique outlook, fascination with computer samples and processed sound, has lead to some strikingly original music (i.e. EINKLANG or LAGOON), even sometimes creating melodies with the sound of wind, water, birds, etc.
